Yes, use an action hook in your child theme’s functions.php file and hook it to the
wp_head()action hook.Mod
Vertical alignment within a
<div>is not easy. You can try this option: http://www.jakpsatweb.cz/css/css-vertical-center-solution.html

In reply to: 3 questions on using hooks and making drop down menus
December 15, 2011 at 8:56 pm #21224General ideas:
1) A link to your site would be helpful. Otherwise, advice is more general and not specific.
2) Use Firebug.
Your questions:
1) You can control the position of any widget using CSS. There have been a number of recent threads about this in the past week or two; search around and I’m sure you’ll find what you are looking for.
2) Same as #1, although this will require a bit more work, since you want it to be horizontal. You’ll need to add a “float:left” to each item. Give it a shot, see how it looks, and then we can take a closer look if you still have issues with it.
3) By default, child pages will be the drop-down in a menu. If you want a drop down menu structured differently, you’ll need to use a custom menu, which gives you LOTS more options. Here’s a tutorial I wrote, which will tell you all you need to know about custom menus: http://blog.kjodle.net/2011/08/25/how-to-create-and-use-custom-menus-in-wordpress/
Try it out, and let us know about any specific problems you have.

I don’t see a slider at all on your page. Did you disable it?

1. Click on the “edit” link about the post and you can edit the URL for your permalink.
2. There are a number of plugins that will easily do tables for you. I would heartily recommend Josh’s Ultimate TinyMCE plugin.
3. I’m not sure what you mean by “page”. Unless you use a plugin to change where widgets appear, widgets will show up on a page as well. Do you mean to add a plug just to pages and not to posts?

Just add a
border-rightorborder-leftto the element in question.Mod
um…don’t use IE8?
Other than that, it’s probably a plugin that is not entirely compatible with IE8. What was the last thing you did before you noticed this, plugin-wise?

Permalinks: there shouldn’t be “index.php” in your permalinks. You should remove this. See if that takes care of your issue. See this article for a list of acceptable structure tags to use in your permalinks.
If that doesn’t take care of the Rose Canyon lake photo, try going to your media gallery and deleting it from there.
