Slider Suddenly Stopped Working

Quote:Then I would like to know, what happen since many have experienced this today, even we did nothing with our computer(s) or WP yesterday? The theme loads the jQuery Tools library from the jQuery Tools CDN, since CDN generally offers faster download speeds regardless of where your site’s visitor is located. However, somehow domain name resolution of the CDN failed for some of you, probably due to a fault in the CDN’s DNS server or something. I wouldn’t be surprised if those of you who are experiencing the problem are on the same ISP.
Short story is, the jQuery Tools library is located on a certain server(s) somewhere, and somehow for some of you that server can’t be found, therefore the jQuery Tools library can’t be loaded, hence the slider stops working.
What the fix does is to make a local copy of the jQuery Tools library on your server, so that you know it’ll always be available as long as your site is available, albeit at the expense of some performance, if any.
Thanks for your explanation Syahir. I’ll try again at adding the jQuery Tools file. Perhaps I did it incorrectly. Just one added note to today’s little saga.
Randomly, when I click a post title or the site title, pages from Google Ads load from the links. Never came across this before. Related at all?
I previously reported the same problem in a different thread, but then found this.
Just put put the js file in js folder and updated the theme-scripts.php file as advised, and it fixed the problem.
I first tried putting them in my child theme file – didn’t work – and then put them in the base theme and it fixed it.
Sorry, I cannot mark this topic as resolved, as it is RESOLVED, and the solution-mark will help other graphene-users to find a fast solution.
If some graphene-users do not understand the fix, then it is another subject.
I can send the fix by email.
Robert
I don’t suppose you have a copy of 1.2.6 stored anywhere? I am using the tabs which use 1.2.6, and I can’t access the cdn.
Cheers
I am having the same issue – kronberg can you send me the fix by mail?
Thanks soooooooooooooooo much!!
I uploaded the updated files and it worked for me. Thanks!
Kronberg, can you please send the fix to me?
I currently have “http://cdn.jquerytools.org/1.2.6/tiny/jquery.tools.min.js”
I do not have a local copy of the 1.2.6 on my drive. My lightbox which uses that suddenly stopped working. Please help.
Hello. Am running Graphene 1.3.1 and slider suddenly stopped working. Understand on elementary level about the bad link problem to jquery script. My problem is I have functions.php but no “includes” and no “theme-scripts.php”. I realize those items came about when you simplified functions.php, but would like to avoid updating Graphene version as everything works well and we were just planning to announce the site to the public. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry if I missed anything discussed so far.
