When not perched on my workspace, I tremendously enjoy hiking in the bushes and climbing mountains. They serve as much-needed refuges from the pretense of cities.

In reply to: Side Widgets — the standard ones are not displaying
February 19, 2013 at 12:34 pm #35816The theme can be configured to have one-, two-, and three-columns. The “Sidebar Two Widget Area” is displayed when you’re using a three-column layout, or a two-column layout with the sidebar on the left hand side.
If the column settings is only set globally at the theme’s options, of course we can do a simple check and disable the other widget area depending on the column setting. But you can also set a different column setting for individual pages, and having to check for those on every page load is an overhead not worth the gain.

A couple quick ones:
- Lighten the box shadow of the bottom widgets a bit
- Tweak the footer menu items labels so that they all sit on the same line as “Copyright”

You really shouldn’t be editing the theme’s files directly – it’ll make updating the theme a lot of hassle.
With that said, if you’re having issues simply by virtue of opening and saving the footer.php file without editing it, it could be because of some settings in your text editor. Try using another text editor, like Notepad and see if the same issue happens.

You can use the Action Hook Widget Areas.

Quote:HelloGraphene version 1.8.3 is compatible with WordPress 3.4.2, please ?
It should be. There’s not much change going from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3 in terms of code, just fixing some bugs and added new translations. But you really should keep your version of WordPress updated. Often these include security updates that you won’t want to miss.

Try resetting the theme’s options and set them back again.

For the header image size issue please see this topic:
After resolving that, use the AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild plugin to regenerate the thumbnails for your site. Your home page panes thumbnails should be sized properly after that.

February 17, 2013 at 12:56 am #35814Not sure what’s happening there. Try deactivating all plugins you have to see if it’s a plugin conflict?
