Try removing the code that you’ve added to your child theme. Just changing the thumbnail size in Media settings, and then rebuilding all the images using AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild should do it.

How is it impossible? Is it because you can’t make the dropdown appear without “clicking” on the parent menu item, or is it because you can’t “click” on the dropdown menu item no matter how you accurate you tap on it?

When you create the email icon, upload that icon to your site, and then use the URL to that icon image as the “Icon URL”. The “URL” option is the URL you want visitors to be taken to when they click on the icon. You can also use the mailto: URL other than the standard http:// URL.
