Sorry ive looked around and found this thread which is what im trying to do but its locked, https://forum.graphene-theme.com/graphene-support/add-new-buttons-to-top-bar

I cannot seem to find in the Graphene Options/General/Top bar options a selection for add email ? yes i don’t mind creating a new button email and use the custom add but i don’t know what to add in the URL for it to work.

any ideas please im just learning wordpress/graphene

When you create the email icon, upload that icon to your site, and then use the URL to that icon image as the “Icon URL”. The “URL” option is the URL you want visitors to be taken to when they click on the icon. You can also use the mailto: URL other than the standard http:// URL.
