When not perched on my workspace, I tremendously enjoy hiking in the bushes and climbing mountains. They serve as much-needed refuges from the pretense of cities.

Yes, the template name must match the folder name of the parent theme exactly, so those dashes need to be there.

The “Save and Activate” button will activate the theme. I would suggest making changes in the normal Widgets screen instead of the Live Preview screen.

Quote:I have installed the parent Graphene and created a child for that.If you’re not using Graphene, there’s no need to do that.

That tutorial is specific for the Graphene theme, but the process is similar for any other themes. In the child theme’s style.css file, change
graphenetographene-mobile-neoand you should be all set.Template: graphene-mobile-neo@import url("../graphene-mobile-neo/style.css");Admin

Quote:Should I not use any of the theme options listed in the preview area? When I was initially trying to setup NEO, none of my changes to navigation and widgets for would apply themselves unless I chose those very same settings in the preview tool area. You can, but it is very important that Neo is not activated. Also, you will only see Neo being used if you visit your site using a mobile device. Otherwise, you’ll only see the active theme.

If you enable that option, then select menu will be used. If it’s not enabled (the default setting), then dropdown menu will be used.

No, Graphene Mobile Neo does not need the Graphene theme to function. It works with any theme you might be using.

First, you should not activate the Graphene Mobile Neo theme – the Installation Instructions states this clearly. The theme is designed to work without being activated.
Secondly, WordPress stores your widget settings according to the theme you’re using. When you reactivate the Graphene theme, your previous widgets should have been restored. If it’s not, the widgets might still be there under the “Inactive Widget” section. You can just drag it back into the widget area.

If they are not there, it would be easier to just reconfigure the widgets as you previously have them rather than partially restoring the database.
If you cannot move the widgets around, you might have inadvertently enabled the accessibility mode. Simply click on the “Screen Options” link at the top right of the Widgets screen, and click on the “Disable accessibility mode” link.
