Why not just make a page as you would regularly but not add it to your menus. and for the categories, don’t add it to any. Does this not work?
I’m not sure how you do your menu’s, but if you use the custom menu, you can just leave it out.
But the search function will still bring it up.
Yea, I like that idea, and will try it some time this week. Going to be in and out of the hospital all week.
I think it will work for the GUI changes but for stuff like the icons for each text widget I don’t think it would.
Is there a way to share menus across the installs? Like the footer menu?
10 installs of wordpress. Main site is on the root, other 9 installs are in folders on the root. Like this.
/ <–main install
/folder2 <– install 2
/folder3 <– install 3
/folder4 <– install 4
..and so on
It looks like the widgets with the id’s
text-3text-4are used as the same place on each of the installs, but I think that is just by luck and that I put the same content there. But if I were to put different content on the top widget in different installs then that wouldn’t work@Josh,
Thanks, I see whats going on.
Looks like this topic is fixed and done. Good learning topic.
Well, I’ve got the down arrows on there, that was easy. Just had to fix the ulr of the image file. But, I don’t know what the little line is under the menu. If you move your mouse under each of the top menu items, you will see at the bottom of that menu a little line that is on the left(ish) side. I don’t know what it is or how to get rid of it.

Almost have this quest done.
Thanks.
I was thinking about making a child theme for each sub site and having the css pointing to the main child theme. But then I thought, for the widget icons, the same widgets would have the same icons (id’s) thats good. But then the text widgets are just named:
text-1
test-3
and so on. So different text widgets would have same names and same text widgets would have different names. (if you know what i mean)
So i tossed out that idea without trying it.
Josh,
The color for the backgrounds on the menu is both color and sprite file
background: url("images/sprite_h.png") repeat-x scroll left -3px #313173;I changed the color in the file to the small change in hue that i wanted.Right now, yes, each install is its own install. So each site is by itself a site. Even though only 1 domain is pointed to the root. Each install can have its own domain if the client wants it done that way at some point. So right now, if i change a css file on one, i have to change it 9 more times. (not fun)
I’m going to try (when i get time) to see if i can go in and make all the css files from the 9 subsites to point to the css file from the main site.
I’ve put what I’ve learned from you on the slider and the icons for each of the widgets. (notice I’ve only did the code change for the widgets on the main site and not the other 9) That’s where I’d like to make it snowball down.
The client loves the site. ( i think because i did it for free and maintain it for free lol )
Josh,
I’ve downloaded and installed your plugin. Did you add the ‘add table’ to the plugin for the 11-7-11 ver? If so, I can’t find it. Also, the Style
aligncenterdoes not center the test.http://tecdomainllc.info/test-wp/2011/11/josh-test/
I’m using Firefox 7.0.1 for the test. I also checked the new ver of chrome, and IE9. The test is not centered for those 2 browsers.
I’d like to learn to make a plugin one day, but guess it is hard to program and manage.
Josh,
Looks interesting, I’ll give it a try. Could you add ‘add table’ on there. I think it would be useful. I like to put tables on pages/posts and have to do the html right now. With your mod, it would be easier.
