You can manually hide it using Custom CSS, but none of the thumbnail will show afterwards in the excerpt, even if you set a featured image for that post.

Hi Nikos,

You’re using the last free version of WPML, which is version 2.0.4.1. The free version of the plugin has not been updated for a long, long time and will not be updated again. Last I checked, there were also some incompatibility with WordPress 3.1 and above.

I’m afraid we can’t help you there unless you use the newer (but paid) versions of WPML.

OK, it appears that WordPress ignores the page template setting for the placeholder page used for the static posts page. In the next theme update, we’ll make it so that the correct column mode is applied to the static posts page as per its page template setting.

Contrary to your topic title, the Featured Image feature is the way to solve the issue you’re having. If you notice, for each post you can set a Featured Image for that post (see the bottom right part of the Edit Post screen). If there is an image set as the Featured Image there, the theme will display that image in excerpts instead of picking the first image uploaded for that post.

Did you add a shortcode to embed the PowerPress link in your posts? I just tried the plugin and it’s working correctly on my development site, i.e. no double links. Perhaps also you could tell us your PowerPress settings?
