I made a copy of the all language files that were in the graphene theme language folder,
Then put a copy into my graphene-child language folder…
I open the ‘Codestyling Localization’ plugin, and add a new language.
It shows the “View Full Post” in the list of variables so I update it with replacement text.
But then I cannot ‘generate a mo-file’ because the button is not active
Any suggestions?
I have problem that my Graphene-child theme does not show up, and there for cannot modify the ‘view full post’ text
And the original full Graphene theme is not activated but WordPress is, should I do edit to the WordPress theme?
=(
Thanks,
To work on just the button link version, this got rid of the extra text,
http://aaronrussell.co.uk/legacy/improving-wordpress-the_excerpt/
Css should be able to take care of the rest so its just a button to the page,
Still working on the no button link from image version =)
Thanks Kim, that really helped =)
After using the plugin to add my pages in into a new category (homepage_slider),
I just used the slider options to load that new category (homepage_slider).
Now, I have now been looking to have the full background image, with no text or button,
to link to the page. (link to page works if I have the button showing).
I tried showing only the button but it also shows the page text, and I can’t remove the text without removing the button,
<div class=”slider_post_entry”>
<p>Lots of text from page content</p>
a href=”what-we-do”>View full post</a
</div>
Thanks a bunch =)
Now if I can find out how to set it up, any good tutorials how to use this plugin?
Thanks
That’s great news, Thanks a bunch =D
Hello,
I have my Graphene slider updated so that there is no text or grey bar or button, I only the full background image showing.
What I want to do next, is to have each image link to a different Page in the site, not a post.
Is that possible?
Thanks,
I’ll have to check my css again
Thanks =)
Thanks, I have heard about the firebug plugin on previous posts, but was wondering if there was a simplified CSS for the main menu that might have already been posted.
Any idea why the child theme would not load an image its own image folder, but instead load one from the default theme image folder? (site background image loads from child theme, but menu background loads from original theme)
Cheers,
Hello,
Me like many others are updating the colors in the main menu. Already having the child theme working, it should be a snap to configure it with new menu colors. But its been hard to find the ones that need updating in the style sheet.
Two quick questions,
I started a new theme and I’m trying not to save over the original theme files.
I have made a new folder in my graphene-child folder called ‘images’, and placed the new ‘sprite_h.png’ there.
Problem is that it still loads the images from the old folder, and not the new folder with the same name…
Second question, is there a copy of the style names used to update the menu colors? With so many styles in the original style sheet, it would be great if there was a list somewhere that only had the ones need to update. Then we could just copy/paste a small list of styles into the new css file to be updated.
The main CSS menu styles I’m looking for are: currently selected page tab, main menu active color, dropdown color and border, and dropdown active color.
Thanks for all the help,
