Thank you Prasanna. I assume that this is new to 1.8, and that’s why I couldn’t find it in my 1.7 version!! Brill.
This theme is so flexible, and seems to do everything, I don’t know why people bother with other themes!!
Thanks, Chris
Thanks Syahir, I’ve used your code and taken it out.
I’ll try to remember to try again when the new version is released.
I’ve left the new theme-slider words in there. Is that correct?
Thanks very much for your help, and congratulations on a wonderful theme. I use it all the time, even though I’m still learning!
Chris
I’ve reverted back to the original theme-loop file (was that correct or do they both need changing?), replaced the theme-slider as above and amended the exclude categories to Everywhere, but … the words are still there!!
Would it be better to take out the listing entirely? Coding?
Many thanks Syahir,
Chris
If it is easier to take this line out totally, then I’d be okay with that. Please advise coding to do this.
I would still preferably like the offending posts hidden from the post listing given the choice!
(Have reverted back to ‘Disabled’)
Chris
Yes. I have Caegories to display as ‘Slider’ and Exclude Categories was ‘Everywhere’ but I have changed it back to ‘Disabled’ as it messed up the front page (showed all the Musician posts on one page).
I’ll put it back to ‘Everywhere’ for 20 mins to allow you to have a look!
Thanks, Chris
Many thanks Syahir. I have copied and pasted the content from your link, replacing my theme-loop.php.
Can you now please point me in a direction to exclude the ‘Slider’ category from posts listings?
Regards, Chris
Thanks guys.
Kenneth I haven’t really gone down the road of Action Hook Widgets – so a bit nervous to do so. Is that my only option?
Prasanna I added
.post-167 {
display: none;
}
where the ‘Brendan – Jazz Jam’ post has the ID of 167. It removed the post but I still get the ‘Brendan – Jazz Jam>>’ option at the top. Have I done something wrong? Can I take out several posts this way by just putting a comma between ID’s, or do I need a separate entry in the Options CSS for each post?
Appreciate you taking the time to consider my problem.
Chris
Now that I’ve put some content on the posts I think it looks okay now. When there was just the one line it looked like the text had floated to the surface, leaving too much empty space.
I’m happy.
Thanks very much though,
Chris
P.S. I know that the pictures aren’t quite right, I need to take some more and will then upload those on to the site.
Thanks Kenneth, it’s not vital! I appreciate you taking the time to consider.
Have a good day,
Chris
