Your date shows up fine to me.

Well, when I look at your styles.css, this is what I see:
/*
Theme Name: Graphene Child
Theme URI: http://example.com/
Description: Child theme for the Graphene theme
Author: Rick Bell
Author URI: http://graphicsbyhurricane.com
Template: graphene
Version: 1.0
*/
@import url("../graphene/style.css");
/* Your modification goes here */
@charset "utf-8";
/* CSS Document */No changes in style.css, thus no changes in your web site. Did you upload the edited file?

Well, it should go into maintenance mode for a little bit. But your site is showing up as 1.4.1 on my end. Definitely weird. What version of WordPress are you running?

Thanks to IE, there is no code that works in all browsers, just most browsers. I am constantly recommending to my readers that use IE that they upgrade to a real web browser, such as Firefox, because they are missing out on some cool features. Check out Firefox at Mozilla.org. Plus, Firefox has lots of cool addons like Firebug.
If you Google “IE hacks” you get about 18,000,000 hits. IE is a pain to web designers.

How are you updating? Via the Dashboard or FTP? What program is giving you this message?

Read this page in the codex for more info about child themes and functions.php. I found it very helpful.

Clicking on your link gave me this error:
Not Found
The requested URL /wordpress was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

You can insert the “More” tag in your post where you would like it to break off on the main page.
BTW, I’m seeing your sharing buttons on the front page. Did you resolve this issue?

Then i made some updates (i dont remember what)
This is when I learned to take notes about what I was changing.
Comments main control is: Settings >> Discussion >> “Allow people to post comments on new articles”
Graphene control (which overrides WordPress settings) is in Graphene Options >> General >> Comment Options
You can also control commenting options for individual posts and pages. If you don’t see the “Discussion” option when you are editing the post, click on “Screen Options” at the top to enable it.
Hope this is helpful.
