yes now it looks fine with 2 new longer posts (at least it does on my homepage)……now it’s just page 2 & 3 that are screwed up but I guess I’ll just have to post more and then they will be “history” soon! 🙂 In your 2nd sentence above, what does #post nav-clearfix, stuck under post div id. mean? sorry I’m not too good with this stuff!

Thanks Josh, I was able to change the # of posts on the homepage but it didn’t make a difference with my widgets. I thought it would b/c after my 5th most recent post, the white layout part of each post was overlapping weird?! So I checked all of my widgets in the sidebar and they seem fine (with endings and all). The only thing I can think of is that this seemed to occur after I tried to switch an ad code in the header on the header style sheet. The person who helped design my blog put in a section that says “Place horizontal ads here” and all I would have to do was cut and paste a new one in there when I wanted to change a banner (ad). I changed it and then all of this seemed to have happened. So I obviously deleted it right away (and currently have no banner ad there) but all of my other widgets are still at the bottom. I also noticed that if you click on “older posts” at the end of my homepage (after the last post) that page seems fine and all the widgets pop up in the sidebar where they are supposed to so it’s JUST on the homepage. any other ideas? Thanks!

also if you do “friend” my site’s page notice on the Saturday links, how the titles used to be below my comment before sharing the link and then it seems as if after the “Coupon insert post – find out what coupons are in this Sunday’s newspapers” the link just say You Got That for What as the title with m web URL underneath only – no titles. This is when I started having the problems. I even tried deleted that post all together from my site, thinking that may have been the problem but that didnt work either 🙁

yea you’d have to be logged on and “friends” of You Got That for What? if you are willing you can “like” my site’s page (then unlike it when we’re done with this) and then see what it comes up as in your own personal feed…..that’s the only way you can tell b/c on my site’s FB page, everything looks fine (other than the the text not matching the link, so I guess it’s not fine but….), but in my own personal news feed (which is how I know my posts look like comments under the latest post) is where it looks weird with the latest post showing, then a few posts indented and underneath that latest post w/ no thumbnail pics and then it even says 15 more stories from You Got That for What? which it never did before….I always just had separate posts show up at different times of the day depending on what time I shared them (I would scatter them purposely) with pics and text matching the link I shared.

I never inserted code (other than for the FB Like Box) and I inserted it in the widget text box and then dragged it into my sidebar b/c that’s not a share button.

As far as the code for the addtoany, there really was none b/c I just downloaded the plug-in, activated it and set the settings to what I wanted, clicked save settings and then they just showed up under all of my posts. It was a plug-in.

New printable coupons: slimfast, pop tarts, stouffers

I used the addtoany share button at the bottom of the post. My sidebar FB button is a Like Box from Facebook, not a share button.

Josh, I disabled all of my social plug-ins and took out the code for the one FB Like Box that I had on my sidebar however, I didn’t write the code for my site, I had someone else do it and cannot get it touch with him – ugghhh! After all of that, I wrote a new post, shared it on FB, and it still had different text and no title to my post that showed up – just the same old “you got that for what title” again! It seems as if all of my posts that I’ve shared since this problem occurred 2 days ago are just showing up as comments under my latest post, rather than separate post – does the help any in describing the problem? can you look at my code by any chance or at least tell me where I could find any that could have been inserted that i could take out that may be causing this problem?

So I must be the biggest pain in the butt around these days but I’m still having problems with this so I’m beginning to think it’s not my social sharing buttons after all but maybe my FB Like Widget in my sidebar…….I had someone do this for me and he had just played around with it on Friday night and then Sat. morning is when I had all of these problems with sharing posts (as far as text not matching the post I’m sharing, etc.) Could is have something to do with open graph meta tags? I haven no idea what that even means but after doing ALOT of research on this thru forums and support groups for all of these plug-ins etc. it sounds like that may be the problem?? what do you think and what the heck do open graph tags mean anyway? could that be the problem and if so, how do i fix that?

I feel like if I could just get my “shared posts” to contain the title of each post as it’s link like it used to then everything would be fine like before….when all of these problems occurred it was when the title disappeared on all of my posts when sharing to Facebook. Instead of the title of each post in a “share” it just says the name of my website not the title of the post.

    Thoughts?

Thanks for being patient with the “newbie” here!

also IF the SEND button is the same as the SHARE button from Jet Pack (Share Daddy) then it says I need to do this:

    1. Include the JavaScript SDK on your page once, ideally right after the opening <body> tag.

(then they give me the code below)

    2. Place the code for your plugin wherever you want the plugin to appear on your page.

(then they give me another code)

Do I use both of these or just one? Also WHERE on the Graphene theme do I put this, especially the first one? I see that Step 2 says to put in on my page but I want this send/like button to appear on EVERY post/page.

so is the Facebook “send” button the same as the FB “share” button on JetPack under Share Daddy? I don’t need a like button for users to like my page, that’s not the problem, I need to fix my “share” button so if I use the link above from Josh’s post above will it allow me to put a post onto my FB page with a picture for all my FB followers to see?

    Thanks.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for looking into this for me – it’s so frustrating sometimes!! anyway Josh, to answer your question – they are showing up on my actual site’s FB page but not in people’s newsfeeds correctly (I can check on my personal FB account and my husband’s, so that’s how i know since I am a “fan” of my own page). Now the thumbnail pics aren’t showing up either for each post. I dont’ know what’s going on and it seems to keep changing but for the worse! Also it’s not the large FB icon on my sidebar that’s causing the problem – that one is fine and is just my “like” button for people to like my page on FB. It’s the FB share icon at the bottom of each post through JetPack that is the problem…..I’m not sure how to show you pictures of the problems – can you tell me how do that?
