Not by default. WordPress excerpt strips all HTML tags from the content. But you can find customisations to the excerpt on the web. Example: http://www.aaronrussell.co.uk/blog/improving-wordpress-the_excerpt/

1. In the Custom Menu screen, click on Screen Options in the top right of the page, and enable Link Target.

In the upcoming update (version 1.2) you will be able to include the full post content in the slider. And by using a filter you can include other post types as well. From there on, it’s completely up to you how you want to style the content inside the slider.

Yep, there’s a bug for that feature with version 1.1.4. It’s been fixed for the upcoming update, version 1.2, so you can use it again when you update the theme.
