Hah..that’s weird..that function has nothing to do with social media icons..

I used WebPageTest to test a site’s speed. It’s the same service Google uses for its Pagespeed Online comparison test. Note that your site’s speed depends on a lot of factors, and not just the theme.

It’s really difficult to help you if you take off the widget. We need figure out why the code I gave above doesn’t work, but we can’t do that now since you’ve taken off the widget.

It is possible, but will involve some rather substantial amount of CSS coding, with a bit of PHP sprinkled in. Do you want only the post contents to have the scroll background, or the entire post (including the title, date, and categories, etc.)?

I would suggest using a separate slider plugin to achieve this. It’ll be much easier and less coding required, if at all.

In fact, when I actived the child theme, my background is gone.

This is a default WordPress behaviour. It treats a parent theme and a child theme as two different themes, and custom header and custom background settings are associated with themes. So when you activate a new theme (in this case a child theme), the custom header and custom background settings are reset.

Btw, your custom header is super cool!

Figured out how to get categories in there, but then realized that I couldn’t use a simple name such as http://www.freetravelgenius.com/travel-blog. There is probably a way to fix this in htaccess, but not sure if it is worth the trouble.

This is solely related to your WordPress permalink settings. The theme does not in any way modify the URLs of your site’s posts/pages.

I also noticed that Google Webmaster tools is telling me I have duplicate title tags for all my pages and my page rank just went from 1 to 0. Basically every page also has a “?mobile_switch=mobile”. Is there a way to fix this?

The next update will add a rel="nofollow" attribute to the manual switcher, which would prevent search engines from following that link.

Also, make sure you disable the “Enable Manual Switcher in footer” setting in the Mobile Smart options, as the theme already implements this. Enabling that link will cause two switcher links to be displayed, which is not necessary. Make sure also that you disable the “Enable Manual Switcher Link whilst on Desktop” option.

As for your other questions, are you actually using child theme for the mobile theme, or are you referring to the desktop Graphene theme?

I just went to http://litcrawl.org/nyc/ and tested the slider, and it works. What browser are you using?

Be cautious when using the plugin though. From my tests on my server, it adds about 0.7s to the Time to First Byte of the site. Make sure you test the performance of the site before and after using the plugin.
