When not perched on my workspace, I tremendously enjoy hiking in the bushes and climbing mountains. They serve as much-needed refuges from the pretense of cities.

In reply to: Problem with pages not loading and speed for weeks. Now host sent me a email wants to shut me down
March 1, 2013 at 4:24 am #36272Issues like this usually point to some rogue script of inappropriate settings that’s causing such a high database connections. WordPress is a fairly complex framework, especially when plugins are involved, so it could be difficult to pinpoint the cause. Without access to your server’s control panel, it would be near impossible to.
In any case, have you tried:
1. optimising the database tables, like the host suggested?
2. deactivate all plugins and see if the DB connections and CPU usage drop?

I can’t find it either when visiting your site, which means it doesn’t affect the end user (but somehow it affects Pingdom Tools). It’s probably just a minor thing that you shouldn’t worry about too much.

Try asking the plugin’s author about it. If he says that it’s something that I need to change on my end, post back here and let me know.

How does it not work?

Basically you come up with / write the CSS code yourself to achieve the desired looks of the buttons. This CSS you can place in the theme’s Custom CSS option (Graphene Options > Display > Custom CSS) or inside a child theme’s
style.cssfile, if you’re using a child theme. If you’re not familiar with writing CSS codes, it will be worth it to invest some time to learn it. This will save you a lot of time and frustrations in the future. This topic might be of interest to you: https://forum.graphene-theme.com/graphene-support/beginners-resources-possible-sticky

Try disabling the plugin that provides the image lazyload feature.

Sometimes Twitter’s server are overloaded and can cause temporary downtime (the infamous fail whale). This does not mean that either the widget or Twitter is broken. It’ll just resolve itself after a short period of time.

Quote:Thanks, that has worked, but how do I link it to my actual facebook pagesIf you want to link to your own Facebook page, just create a text widget and insert the Facebook icon wrapped in a link to your actual Facebook page. This is very easy to do, but you need to know at least some html.
bic‘s solution works too.

You can use a custom title tag structure for your site. Go to Graphene Options > Display > Miscellaneous Display Option > Site title options.
