    I agree, its a great theme but intimidating at the same time…

    Now that I’ve figured that out, I am having trouble formatting the titles on the different pages, they are showing up with a gradient blue background and I can’t seem to find any preset options that will change them. is this a CSS item that needs to be addressed in Child theme?

    Cleevewebby, I tried that, but the pages wouldn’t allow me to keep the permalink as I wanted it because it didn’t recognize the child-parent relationship.

    Unfortunately there was a simple fix already built into the options which I didn’t realize…. sorry for the silly question..

    Cheers.

    Luko,

    That worked well, thanks for clearing up some of my confusion with this.

    Cheers.

    The title changed color but did not adopt any of the other changes…

    Also when should I always have my child theme activated when making changes to the website, because whenever I switch from the parent theme to my child theme, there are certain modifications that don’t transfer between the two.

    Thanks for the help.

    I got the title description to work using….

    .header_desc  {
    font-family: 'IM Fell DW Pica',
    serif; font-weight: 400; text-decoration:underline;
    font-size: 40px; color:#CB0000
    }

    but when I try to change the header title using….

    .header_title. {
    font-family: 'IM Fell DW Pica',
    serif; font-weight: 400; text-decoration:underline;
    font-size: 80px; color:#CB0000
    }

    then nothing happened.

    Also, I have experimented using google fonts in the graphene options/display/text style options, but was not sure if my changes would be saved if I install the next update, or if my website crashes and I have to use backed up files… Any suggestions on that?

    Thanks.

    I figured it out, I accidentally had duplicates of the “home” page on my custom menu. Thanks for the help.

    I also cleared my cache and made sure I had selected the “home” page I created as my static front page.

    Do I need to edit a template file to get rid of the automatic “home” tab that comes with the theme?

    Yes, when I switched to the static front page option, I want to delete the “home” tab that originally came with the Graphene theme so that I can then create a new home page and select that as my static front page (as ChainKiller was suggesting).

    I also just re-checked my settings — reading option and the “static page” is set to choose the “home” page that I created myself (because obviously the “home” tab that originally comes with the theme doesn’t show up under pages).

    I just added it, still not working…
