Well, I guess those things are things to think about another day. One step at a time, I guess. I’d love to hire someone but this is just a hobby and I can’t justify the cost to do that.
Thanks for all your help tonight (er.. morning here). I’m gonna call it a night and worry about this another day.
This is all so scary for me. I have three friends that are working on content with me but they’re depending on me to do all the wp set up. But I am Clueless.
What are pretty permalinks? Are those like vanity links?
Move my wp install dir? You can do that? In hindsight, I should’ve installed to castlevillehelper.fghelper.com
I also have the domain castlevillehelper but its not pointing there right now
Omg, that looks positively terrifying. I guess I’ll bookmark that for future reference. It really sounds like if I mess it up, it won’t be easy to fix.
I’ve got this installed in windows. (yes, I’ve been told I shouldn’t have done that… I didn’t know any better). So if I’m reading this right, i won’t have an .htaccess file.
Mind if I ask you a question completely unrelated to Graphene? I was advised to install wordpress in a subdir of my domain. But I want visitors to land on my subdir. Do you know how i would do that? I don’t want to do it right now because we’re still a ways from ‘going public’ but I’m clueless how do it other than using an html redirect that just looks tacky going in.
Whew. I think that’s a better idea too. I might still keep the smaller font in the drop downs. You’ve been a TON of help!
Okay, it works again. I just had a thought. What if I added a “more quests” as a submenu item then added half the original submenu items to the “more quests” hierarchy?
That way half the list would be right of the original list (Like if I replaced All Quests” with “More Quests”
Remove padding?
Oops. New issue now. Try navigating to Buildings, then to any submenu (to the right). It won’t go there. It’s too far away and it collapses.
I’m okay with them all reduced. This thing will grow over time and it’s good to have room in the other drop downs too.
I’m looking forward to v1.6. Then maybe I can widen the thing and have a custom menu in a side bar.
