In reply to: Completely Green to coding-Need Help with Slider and Posts on Home page
July 6, 2011 at 2:35 am #14931To operate slider on front page, go to Graphene options >> slider options and make sure that the box marked “disable slider” is not ticked. The slider will then appear on the front page.
To set up number of posts: go to Settings >> Reading and in the box marked “Blog pages show at most” enter the number of posts you want to show on the front page.
To set up excerpts: go to Graphene options >> Excerpts Display Options and tick the box marked “Show excerpts in front page”.
Once you get the redirect taken care of, that should accomplish what you are going for.
Good luck!

July 6, 2011 at 2:29 am #14930Did you edit the .htaccess file or set up a 301 redirect?
If you can’t figure out how this happened, you might want to contact your hosting provider to undo the redirect.

Not a problem! Glad to help.

I learned this after many hours banging my head against my computer desk. Slow and steady wins the race!

You can go into the html editor and insert this code where you want the different font to begin:
<div style="font-family:"Times New Roman",Georgia,Serif;">and then where you want the different font to end (or even at the end of the post):
</div>For more information, read this page for more information about specifying fonts.
I know this seems like a bit of work (in truth, it’s not the most elegant solution), but if you want different fonts on different pages, this is probably the easiest way to accomplish that.
Also, keep in mind that if readers don’t have a font you’ve specified installed on their computer, they won’t see that font. See this page for more information.
Good luck!

Create a category called “slider.” Apply that category to any article you want displayed in the slider under Graphene Options >> Slider Options >> Category to show in slider.
Then, in Graphene Options >> Front Page Options >> Front page posts categories, select those categories you want to appear on the front page. Be sure not to select “slider” category here.

The tab thing does seem to cause it occasionally, but not every time. Definitely strange.

Actually, I had my slider times set for 4000/300. When I changed to 5000/500, the problem went away. I changed them back to 4000/300 and it did it again. So I changed it back to 5000/500, watched my monitor for five minutes, and the problem has gone away. Weird. Maybe the electric company is sending me some damaged electrons. 😉

Yes, I noticed that on my site as well. I had fifteen posts appearing in the slider. It would get down to the twelfth or so, and then rapidly go through several, although the marker (the little round dots below) didn’t move. I changed the number of posts to ten and didn’t see this. I then tried twenty posts and it did it again.
I just upgraded to WP 3.2 today. I wonder if that has something to do with it.
