Woo all fixed! It was 6Scan that was causing the issue, so I will now direct all questions to thier forum! Thanks Kenneth!
Cheers Kenneth,
I’ve managed to get some error messages from PHP and get more of an error message out of the assortment of text that greets me when I type in my URL…
It looks like “Cannot modify header information – header already sent by (output started at /home…./plugins/6scanbackup/6scan.php:148) in /home…/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 881
So looks like the 6scan plugin tried a backup and runied the whole site! 🙁
I cannot get wp-admin to generate the login screen so I will try to disable the plugin via FTP and see how I go
Thanks Kenneth,
I agree the on the non-html / css suggestion. It does flow better and I have amended! I am not the biggest fan of columns for text only, in any regard; I have certain restrictions with that disclaimer placed on me to show the text in a certain manner and in a certain place (and size!) I am considering changing that text box to an image of the text as it shows on every page and I am concerned about the ‘duplicate’ content factor, but it doesn’t present as well.
The only issue I am struggling to fix is the removing the bullets from lists (see life insurance page). I have included the blanket ul, li { list-style-type: none; } in the stylesheet, but it has only removed the numbers across the site not the bullets, but that is a question that is about to be posted in the support forum.. (hmmm as I type I think I may change the lists from bullets to numbers to try to remove that way..)
Ok, well I will uninstall and reinstall without Fantasico and see how I go..
Prasanna, if I cannot get the site live myself and if I have a local copy of the site, do you have anyone that can put it online (for a fee obviously) and give it a slight tweak to make it a little more IE friendly (looks good on Chrome, not as good on IE)?
BitNami is a program that you can use to install wordpress locally on your computer to build a site up, sets up a sql db on the computer.
So at the moment I have a fully functional wordpress site sitting on my computer but I cannot get it online!
I installed via Fantasico, I might try to uninstall everything and try again!
I am running via Crazy Domains with the following versions
Apache version 2.2.22
PHP version 5.3.10
MySQL version 5.5.24-cll
I have tried a re-install of the WordPress (v3.4) but I got this error
The package could not be installed.: PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
I have changed the functions.php to support multiple secondary menus’s but from what I can see there are no spaces before or after the open/close..
it’s becoming quite difficult for a beginner like me to get it going! I have a perfectly running version on my local machine that I built via BitNami but I couldnt upload the local site to live properly so I have gone through updating page by page, but I keep getting this error!!
Does anyone know the theme enough and can be paid to install and get it running properly?
I might have to upload my site to a test URL for people to look at… I am pretty sure I have done that (although I do not know the term <tt>)
I have done the following;
> In Settings >> Reading: Set Reading Settings as “A Static Front Page”
> Published content on the ‘Front Page” (named Primoris Financial)
> Nominated the “Posts Page” as a page titles “Blog”
The blog page is blank except for the header and header menu. no content at all… I have published 2 posts to test…
I have other static pages, if I nominate any other page, all the body content disappears…
If I view a post directly, everything is there – body and widgets, but nothing is showing up on the ‘blog’ page itself… I’ve also noticed that if I click on the ‘category’ on a post it also shows a blank page…
I am very new to HTML and even newer at CSS, so I am not sure what I am looking for, if it is an issue in the code… I dare say it is something very simple!
