When not perched on my workspace, I tremendously enjoy hiking in the bushes and climbing mountains. They serve as much-needed refuges from the pretense of cities.

Hi John,
Let’s try to tackle this a few bite-sized bit at a time.
Quote:1. Should I have both Graphene & Graphene Mobile Installed & active at same time?Yes, and no. Yes that both Graphene and Graphene Mobile should be installed, i.e. they should both be in the
wp-content/themes/folder. But no, not both of them should be active at the same time. Only Graphene needs to be activated, and do not activate Graphene Mobile.Quote:2. PC website when viewed on a PC shows my header or banner picture at top then menu below & that is how I want it.However when viewed from my iPhone the very top of my website shows my menu at the top but the banner below that.
I want my mobile to look like my PC site: like ur demo site.
Banner at top – Menu below
How do I fix this?
Graphene Mobile doesn’t support header image yet. Right now, there is just the header text over the gradient background, which you can (and have) change the colours. The image that you’re seeing now is the featured image of the page that is being used as the static front page.
Try going to Graphene Mobile options page > Display > Posts Display Options and tick the “Hide automatic image at the top of posts” option, and you’ll see what I mean.
Quote:3. Viewing my site on my iphone4 shows a different picture for my header banner picture from what my pc shows.This is explained above.
For the line height issues, try adding this code to the Graphene Mobile Custom CSS option:
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {
line-height: normal;

hurm…that’s weird, since wordpress generates that sql code, and not the theme. It could very well be a php compatibility issue..basically the error in that sql syntax is the comma after ORDER BY, which shouldn’t be there. But like I said, that sql syntax is generated by wordpress, so I don’t think I can fix it from the theme.

@Adrianw,
I can’t seem to reproduce the bug you’re describing. It seems to be working fine on my end. It looks to me like the “This Website” page doesn’t have any child pages assigned to it. Can you check the relationship again in WP Admin > All Pages?
As for the non-selectable parent menu item in the nav bar, see this post: https://forum.graphene-theme.com/graphene-support/stopping-the-parent-pages-in-the-navigation-bar-from-being-clickable

Hi John,
To use the mobile theme, you should only need the Mobile Smart plugin. All the others are not necessary. In fact, they may even be conflicting with each other. That being said, you aren’t necessarily limited by the Mobile Smart plugin only. If you like the additional features provided by WPTap Mobile Detector for example, you can use that plugin as well, but you must only use one mobile detector plugin at a time. Otherwise they may conflict with each other.

In reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_post_format() in D:xamppxampphtdo
September 18, 2011 at 12:43 am #17169Update WordPress to at least version 3.1, when the Post Format feature was added. The upcoming version of the theme will perform a check to see if the function exists before trying to use it.

Quote:If I watch the website, I don’t see that there is any german translation for Graphene Mobile. Do you need one?Rüdiger Kladt is already working on a German translation file, but I’ll let you know if there’s any issues. Thanks!

Hi jaztwo,
Thanks for reporting!
For issue 1, please try replacing the theme’s loop-children.php with the updated on here: http://graphene.googlecode.com/svn-history/r210/trunk/graphene/loop-children.php
As for issue 2, can you please explain more in what way it doesn’t work?

Hi John,
Your site is not currently using the Graphene Mobile theme for mobile devices. Make sure you install the theme using the instructions outlined here: http://www.khairul-syahir.com/wordpress-dev/graphene-mobile/installation-instructions

Yes there is. In the Appearance > Menus screen, click on the “Screen Options” link in the top right of the page, and then tick the checkbox for “Posts”. You’ll then be able to add posts to your custom menu.

Hi Alexandro,
That’s a nice test you undertake! I’d definitely keep this in mind for future updates & development of the theme.
