Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for your advice.
I will check with my server if there’s a problem.
thanks
Steve
p.s.
I have had that style of menu for a year now and the site ranks No 1 in google for dozens of related keywords, so Im happy with the usability side of things – doesn’t reduce traffic, if anything, it climbs regularly…….
Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the menu is working fine .
It was actually the menu colours that were making it look all wrong..!
Changed them and it looks fine now..
Thanks for your help anyway.
Steve
Yes I know what it means…
But on every other WordPress site with a Graphene theme installed I have never had this issue.
Using the line break code is a right pain each time..!
Doesn’t everyone just write a line of text and hit enter to create a new line?
That’s where the problem is – the cursor moves down a line and code shows the new line but when published every bit of text is on the same line….
Very frustrating..
Cant work out why it has happened on this site?
Any ideas..?
Can’t see any comments widget – perhaps you have fixed this now..?
Hi,
Yes it works fine on all my other sites as well ,,??
I have deleted and re-installed a completely bear WordPress with no plugins.
Using child theme with no additional CSS.
Cursor moves down a line each time I hit enter and html shows the & n b s p ; (no spaces)
But when I publish and view the text is all on one line ..!???
any ideas..
thanks
Hi Matt,
It’s a good start for some one that’s never done a website before – well done.
Couple of points:
1/ Loose the search bar – very few people use them, plus there’s not a lot to search on the site anyway.
2/ Lose the comments widget – again no point in that
3/ Tone the font size down – far to ‘in your face’..!
4/ white space at right of header – make header same width as page layout
5/ I would always put a contact number in the header area as well for this type of site
6/ For a personal training you MUST have an about me page…
7/ Tone the footer colour down a lot – and blend the text in – it’s not an important area for visitors
8/ Reduce the size of your background picture its far to big @ 1.4MB that just adds load time
9/ Add a newsletter subscribe widget
hope that help a bit.
Steve
all made using this great Graphene Theme – its the best you can get……..
I have fixed this now..
