I am almost back to my normal working theme…yipee!
Thank you very much; what I did is copied the child theme files off-line and compared them to the parent files; then I went line by line making and testing every modification as I go along. Now I have learnt my lesson! Thank you once again…..

So what you are saying is that I should customize the footer.php and the header.php in the parent folder; and never load these files into the child folder. Or if I do make the changes, these should be done only in the child folder’s footer.php and header.php files?

I have the header.php, the footer.php and the style.css and a blank functions.php….
As a result of activating my child theme, I have lost my widgets on the right, and I still get the multiple header scenario; my alginment is completely to the left!
I have just done that. Please kindly have a look. Thanks….

Does it appear with the modified Header (I am using Metero Slides!)
The othe funny thing is that it shows me different results in different broswers: Firefox, Chrom and IE….
I am really not sure what the issue is here….
