Quote:I just don’t know. I googled for a minute, but couldn’t find anything. I honestly think sliders are only programmed to display static images (or as Ken suggested, an animated .gif).
To be able to do what you are wanting would require the slider to “know” when the .swf is finished playing, and then transition to another slide. Every slider I have ever worked with only allows you to set a “master” time delay between slides… nothing on an individual slide basis.
I wish I could help more, but I’ve just never come across anything like that yet.
thanks man….there is another way i found that is creating the flash file and the transition through macromedia and uploading it. give it the same id as the slider and change a few css. I will go with this for now and try it out. lemme see if my client likes what he sees. Thanks for your help dude….i agree this is the first time i have even seen this. BTW the client got this idea from this site: tilecentre
I appreciate your help…thanks.
hey, am using 1.8 release. I want to ask if you are going to also install a flash file embed feature in the theme for the new release.
Quote:I’m not aware of any slider that cycles through .swf files. As far as I know, it would need to be done manually. Does the file begin playing at all when you insert it in the slider?@Josh – No the slider does not display the file playing. instead there is a white blank space in the slider with just the title of the post welcoming visitors. Yes I agree with the manual code but I feel its alot of work to put it and maintain it online. any other suggestions?
Quote:It’s not so much that you need to get an .swf in the slider, but that you need to get Flash to play in the slider. But most (all?) sliders only display static content. If it is not complicated, it may be possible to convert the swf to a form that does play in the slider, such as an animated gif.
@Kenneth John Odle – I have tried this possibility however the animated gif takes sometime to buffer and play. its like a slow motion play, u knw. Is there any other way like the 1st swf file plays then a fade transition occurs and then 2nd swf file plays…. Thats the kind of stuff I am searching for.
thanks alot dude….this actually worked perfectly the way I wanted. thanks again.
