    I was messing with my widgets and suddenly my footer is on my sidebar. Someone please help me put it back where it belongs.

    Thank you so much!

    I was messing with my widgets

    That is your clue. There is most likely a missing closing </div> somewhere in one of the widgets you were messing with. You just have to find it and add it.

    Happens all the time.

    Wow! That worked! Thank you. Is there a way to change the color of the footer so it’s not black? The black clashes with my light scheme. Thanks for your prompt reply!

    I do love the appearance of your site, as well as your topic. I’ve bookmarked it. But make my life easy and include that RSS feed button somewhere.

    For the footer, play around with this in your custom CSS or child theme style sheet:

    #footer {
    background: #ffffff;
    }

    Change the #ffffff to whatever color you would like.

    BTW- What is a child theme and how do I use it?

    RSS- what do I put for the URL ?

    What is a child theme and how do I use it?

    Here:

    and here:

    what do I put for the URL ?

    WP makes this easy: http://girlinthegreenapron.com/feed/

    You can actually add feed/ to just about anything: category, tag archive, etc. I use it a lot on the front page of my blog.

    I put the RSS Feed on the sidebar widget..is that what you said would make easier for people to follow? or do have to add a separate plugin?

    How do I change the back ground color of the footer widget area…it’s now gray. I didn’t see that option on the display area. Is it another code I have to put in the custom css?

    Sorry for all the questions..just trying to learn as much as possible since you have been so helpful.

    How do I change the color of the Page bar(now light gray) and the color of the highlighted page(now black), and color of the font(now black).

    Thanks again Kenneth;-)

    You’re not using the top bar, which is where the RSS feed icon normally goes. You can put it in a widget, but if someone is checking your site using an RSS feed, that won’t help them. Here’s how to use RSS to follow a blog:

    How to use RSS to follow my podcasts

    Not the best instructions — I will have to write a tutorial about that later. As far as your other questions about colors, try using Firebug. See this:

    I’ll try to take a look again later. In the meantime, have fun.

    I think you are talking about editing the menubar. This has been discussed a lot in this forum, but I don’t think there’s any particular thread that includes everything you need to know. You can start here, however:

    Sometimes it’s easier to take a look at what someone else has done to figure out what you would like to do.

    Take a look, try things out, and let us know when you get stuck. Cheers!
