I know i can start a “featured” category and assign posts to it, what i meant was – like you said – a hybrid solution. either give the theme itself, or a dedicated plugin, the ability to select specific pages to appear in the slider using a different parameter than page number.. page number simply doesn’t cut it, it would be nice to have a better tool to identify which pages to display in the slider.
in other words, yes – the slider is MEANT for posts, it would be nice though if it could be converted to feature PAGES instead 😉
