Something like
.post-nav a, .post-nav a:visited {color: #000000;}might do the trick.

Is this just Graphene, or all themes?

Did you make sure to save the menu after you added the page? Did you make sure to add it to the correct menu?
(And yes, I have made both these mistakes, and more than once. Could have kicked myself!)

This is a really, really good idea actually, so I wrote a tutorial on how to do it, complete with pictures and code. You can read it here:
If you know a little bit about WordPress functions, you can adapt this same idea to a number of other purposes. WordPress new code reference is here:
Enjoy!

You can view the changelog for the theme here:

If by “what is going top happen with my site” you mean “will something on my site break” there is really no way to know. The best solution is to update only one thing at a time, and give it a couple of days between updating different items. (I’ve seen a lot of people who wait and do all updates—WP core, theme, plugins—all at once, which makes it impossible to determine where a problem comes from.) Give it a couple of days between updating items, so that you and your visitors get a good feel for how it’s working. I usually update something once or twice a week.

Link to site? Details?
Have you tried disabling all plugins to rule out a plugin conflict?
Mod
Try disabling plugins for just those two sites and try again.
