1- The url doesn’t have any tag of some sort.

2- The h1 tag is given to the headline.

How can it be done ?

Look in the source code.

1- The url doesn’t have any tag of some sort.

2- The h1 tag is given to the headline.

That’s simple!

Thanks for your help! We are almost there.

I understand what you mean by editng the url. I got that.

Event if I edit the link the “Theme” gives automaticaly a h1 to the url, which is my main concern.

There is much more than a font size in the h1 tag. The h1 tells the search engine what is the main subject of a page.

And the main subject is given by the headline not the url.

Question

Is there a way to give another tag than h1 to the url? For example a h2 tag.

If you are refering to the post title as being the headline, yes!

permalink = url want it to be h2 and not showing on the page

Hi TobiF,

My issue is to have the permalink to be tag as H1 and the fact that the link is showing on the page.

I think there is a confusion between the url (permalink) and headline.

The url is not necessary your headline.

I give the h1 tag to a headline not to a url!?

If I could change the permalink for H2 and not showing the link on the page but in the archive I would be happy.

The url and the title (headline) needs to be treated independently here’s why.

The Gardening exemple

I wrote a sales copy about Gardening to sell an ebook.(url http://www.my-site-.com/gardening).

I go on the net to promote the page on diffrent blogs, forums, I write different articles on ezine articles and other article directories with links pointing toward http://www.my-site-.com/gardening.

I look on the stats and sales are low. The first thing to do is to split test your headline (A/B test). We know that this a major factor to entice the client to read further.

I don’t want to change the url because the page has links poiting toward the page and it brings good traffic but I have to change the headline and play with it. (changing words,colors, font etc.)

This is crucial as a copywriter and marketer to have the flexibilty to do it.

Does the permalink need to have a h1 tag ? Could it be possible to have a permalink with no tag at all?

Hi Mr.Odle,

Most of the time when I write an article I like to have the main keyword on the url to give readers an idea of the topic but title on the article would be more informative and keyword rich.

For Exemple, lets say I write an article about garderning. The url would be http://www.my-site.com/gardening and the main title(h1) of the article would be “How to choose the right gardening tools”.

I hope this is making sense. Most of my html sites have this structure and it’s working pretty well with the search engines.
