Awesome,Luko — that did the trick. I had C&P’d text from one website to the post and block quoted it, but the closing tag appeared in the wrong spot.

I went through all the configurations of columns:

[] (no sidebars) — all pages load correctly

[] | (sidebar on right) — all pages load, but front page has blank widget column

| [] (sidebar on left) — Front page doesn’t load (Header banner appears, menu & search box appears, body of page is blank). Other pages do load normally (including widget columns)

[] | | — all pages load, but front page has two blank widget columns

| | [] — Front page doesn’t load (Header banner appears, menu & search box appears, body of page is blank). Other pages do load normally (including widget columns)

I figured that there’s something going on with Sidebar 2. In this sidebar, I have a couple of text widgets that have content that changes on most days. I inactivated those widgets, ran through all the column configurations, and had exactly the same results as above.

Then I inactivated all widgets from Sidebar 2, ran through the column configurations, and got these results:

[] — all pages load correctly

[] | — all pages load, but front page has blank widget column

| [] — All pages don’t load (Header banner appears, menu & search box appears, body of page is blank).

[] | | — All pages don’t load (Header banner appears, menu & search box appears, body of page is blank).

| | [] –All pages don’t load (Header banner appears, menu & search box appears, body of page is blank).

| [] | — All pages don’t load (Header banner appears, menu & search box appears, body of page is blank).

I’ve since reactivated my sidebar 2 widgets and put my blog back into [] | | configuration. I’ve advised my readers that if they need info from the sidebar that they’ll have to go to another page.

Thoughts on what’s going on?
