A very kind soul on WordPress.org by the name of Robin W. replied to this question so I thought I would post the answer here in case it could help save someone the huge amount of time I spent trying to work out this issue. As it turns out the answer was very simple:

1. Completely and permanently delete the image that is not showing on the post.

2. Re-Upload the image with a new image name. Make sure it is uploaded as a single image and not part of a group of images.

This worked for me. Hope this helps someone else.

Darn! I just tried deleting the post and remaking it to see if that would fix the problem. It didn’t. Now, the image is missing from the Category Archives page even though it still shows on the actual post page. I have been up all night trying to fix this. I just don’t know what to do.

Can you please help me again? I created two posts and they worked perfectly. I have an image that shows with the text excerpt and it looks fantastic. I created a 3rd post and the image does not show in the slider. It shows when you click the view full post button, but not in the slider. About the images: They are all the exact same image only in different colors. Nothing changed about any of the images.. just color and image name example (imageb.png, imagec.png, imaged.png). I checked the image code and the code on each page is exactly the same as well. I just can’t figure out why the image would show perfectly on the first two sliders and on the third one it is gone. Can you please help?

Thank you soooooooooo much! That was awesome help you gave me. The problem was I didn’t understand that a post and a page were different or that the slide used the post to create the slider images. I had a real Ah Ha moment reading your reply. Thank you very much. It works now! 🙂
