WordPress 3.5 update leads to no access to widgets

    After updating to WordPress 3.5, which was one of the worst decisions I have made recently, my site continues to have problem after problem. The latest problem is that I am not able to access any of my widgets. When I go to Appearance -> Widgets and go to open one of the drop down menus on the right side, nothing actually happens. The site freezes and nothing changes period. What could be causing this issue and any suggestions for a quick fix? Thanks

    Have you tried disabling plugins to see if you have a plugin conflict?
