Twitter Widgets
-
I know you guys don’t create twitter widgets (besides the Graphene one), but I’m pretty sure this is a theme issue.
No matter which twitter profile widget I use on my home page (and I’ve tried a lot of them), the widget will work for a short period of time – anywhere from a few minutes, to a few hours, to afew days — before crashing. From then on, anytime the page is loaded, the widget will appear empty and/or will display an error message.
Again, I know you guys don’t deal directly with those plug-ins but the fact that it has happened, without fail, to all of the 10-15 twitter widgets I’ve used might point to some sort of bug. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
ModActually, the fact that lots of people use Twitter widgets without any problem indicates that this probably isn’t a theme issue. (Possible, but not likely.) Rather, it may be a conflict between Twitter and one of your other plugins. You know the only solution here–deactivating other plugins one at a time to see if this is truly the issue.

I admit, this is weird. You say you sometimes get an error message. Is it the same message regardless of which widget you use (which would be something on Twitter’s side, most likely), or is it different from widget to widget?
It’s not the same message no matter what I use…generally there is no error message, it simply appears blank. I’ll try deactivating some plugins and let you know how everything works out.
ModJust out of curiosity, when you get that blank widget, do you ever go over to Twitter to see if they are over capacity? (Which happens quite often from time to time.)
Not a likely cause, but a possibility.
Positive it’s not that. I’m on twitter all the time.
The widgets are blank about 10 times more often then they load properly.
I also just deactivated nearly every plug-in on my site, and still, nothing seems to be working.
ModYour Twitter widget is working fine to me right this moment (3 minutes after your post, but it looked fine earlier today, as well). Could this be some sort of firewall setting on your end? Have you looked at your site from a different computer/ISP? Have any of your readers mentioned this to you?
