The Graphene Twitter widget doesn’t work in IE8 or IE7. It stalls on “loading tweets”.

    The browser error message is:

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

This sometimes happens (see this thread, for instance) and it sometimes just fixes itself. It looks like it’s fine right now. Try emptying your cache and reloading the page.

    IE7? Really? 😉

Okay, thanks. Yes, IE7 at work, believe it or not.

I know a lot of people still use IE7 or just plain IE, often because they don’t know there is something better available out there. It’s one reason I have a text widget recommending people upgrade to Firefox. IE is weird and buggy.

Is there a fix for the issue? (Other than installing a new browser?) The majority of people who visit our site will be using some form of ie.

Nevermind, I figured it out. As was mentioned on another thread. If you have less tweets than you have the widget set to display, it will not display any and will say, loading tweets. I had it set to show 3 tweets; however, I’d only tweeted twice, so it wouldn’t load those two tweets. I changed it to only show 2 and it showed the two tweets. I think the assumption people make is that when set to default 5, it will show 5 – or less. That is not the case.

Yep, you beat me too it. I had the same problem when I first started using Graphene… actually, if I recall correctly, that was the issue which first brought me to the forum here.

    Glad you got it working!!

I’ve actually added a check for the Twitter widget so that it displays the number of tweets specified or less, but somehow the updated file did not get included with the previous theme updates.

I’ll make sure it makes it into the next version.
