Top bar issues

  • joepadre

    I was trying to add a top bar advertisement on my site by enabling the header widget but it “hides” half of the bar. It’s like I need to move my site down a couple pixels. Any help that you all can provide would be much appreciated. You can check it out at Thanks so much!

    On your style attribute, in your iframe tag, you have:

    style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; border: 0pt none;"

    Change it to this:

    style="position: absolute; top: -30px; left: 0px; width: 100%; border: 0pt none;"

    NOTE: The change of top: -30px;

    I’m quite an amateur when it comes to this. Where to I find the iframe tag in order to change it? Thanks a TON for your help!

    Well, I’m pretty sure it’s something you’ve inserted yourself. I’m assuming the bar you are adding is being added via an iframe.

    How did you insert the advertisement? Did you use an action hook widget? Did you copy and paste some code from somewhere? Check that code.

    I was given the script by our new employer to add it to our site. So I enabled the action hook widget and pasted it in. It looked like this – <script src=”; type=”text/javascript”></script><script defer=”false” type=”text/javascript”>_siteid = 10243; yardbar(); </script>

    Once I saw that it appeared to be “behind” my header, I tried to disable it but it didn’t work.

    You tried to disable what?

    Do me a favor and paste the script given to you here. Wrap your code with backticks, it’s the little button on the top-left of your keyboard with the ~ sign on it.

    I tried to disable the action hook and just remove the bar but it still appears. Weird.

    This is the script that I was given,

    <script src="" type="text/javascript"></script><script defer="false" type="text/javascript">_siteid = 10243; yardbar(); </script>

    Backtick is “shift” plus the “~” key.

    Your script is generating an iframe. Try adding this to your custom CSS:

    #container {
    margin-top: 30px;

    and see how that works.

    Well that worked because it pushed it down but unfortunately the bar moved along with it.

    I know it’s not the kosher thing to do but I uninstalled the theme and then re-installed it. It at least removed that top bar from appearing anymore. So starting from square one, what would be the proper way at adding this script?

    <script src="" type="text/javascript"></script><script defer="false" type="text/javascript">_siteid = 10243; yardbar(); </script>

    I really appreciate all the help that you are providing.
