I’m planning to use a combination of Subscribe2 and WP-Members for some sites I’m working on. Subscribe2 will allow subscribe widgets and for you to email your subscribers for any given post. WP-Members will take that to a higher level if you want them to log-in and have data fields beyond the subscription level stuff {meaning beyond allowing subscribers to choose categories to apply to their subscription}.
