Static homepage?
-
I am completely new at coding and am having a hard time creating a static homepage, I’ve looked at the WordPress Codex and understand that I need to create a “Home” page and a “Posts” page, and have done so accordingly.
How do I get my posts to show up on my static home page? I can’t seem to figure it out.
Thanks,
D

The page you selected to be the static home page will be displayed instead. That’s what it means by “static” home page. It doesn’t change as you write new posts, etc.
Ok, so if I want there to be 2 sidebars on my home page, with my posts in the middle…and then only one sidebar on the posts page… how would I go about accomplishing that?

Don’t use a static home page, and you will have what you want.
But if you want to have some static text followed by your blog posts, use the “Homepage Panes” option in Graphene options. That’s what I do with my blog.

It looks like managed to get rid of the sidebars on my posts page, keeping them only on the homepage…but I have no idea how to expand the width of my single posts to fit the whole screen, rather than half of the screen.
here’s a sample of what i’m talking about:
homepage with 2 sidebars: http://www.blazingtruth.com
single post with no sidebars: http://www.blazingtruth.com/austrian-economics/

Did you activate the alternate frontpage widgets option?
Yes

Then that’s why your post is narrow. It’s waiting for you put some widgets in there.
There’s not a workaround that I’m aware of. Either you get widgets on all your posts or none.
There’s no way to stretch that width to fit the page?
