You don’t actually need to modify the sprite in order to add new image. You can just use the new image on its own and just use the image instead of the sprite.

Yeah I’m aware of that but thought the experience would be good nevertheless. I’m always up for trying new things.

ok, strange thing is happening with regard to the menus. I added the “Science & Technology” category to a previous post but for some reason it’s not showing up when I access the corresponding menu item under “In the News”. Would you happen to have any ideas?

The way WordPress 3.0’s custom men u works is that you have to manually add the menu item yourself in the Appearance > Menus admin page everytime you want to add a new menu item. It doesn’t automatically lists all of the categories and their descendants.

I have the menu item added, but when I click on it, I get a 404 error

    n/m it works… I had a plugin installed which hid categories…

I thought it just hit them from authors (these categories are menu-specific) and I only wanted to have access to them for posting. I didn’t realize they hid all posts *with* the categories I specified to be hidden as well.

When I scroll up and down on any page, the experience seems to be jaggedy… Your blog theme here is very smooth. Any reasons for this? Anything I can do to improve upon it? Thanks.

    Hi,

Is there a way to point out another place for the sprite_master.png so I can have it in my child theme or do I have to select all the lines in the stylesheet that contains the sprite_master.png (or just the ones where I have made changes) and put it in my own style.css?

You’d have to select only those that you want to change. You don’t even need to use sprites if you’re defining your own background images for the theme’s elements.

Thanx for a quick answer, well defining my own images will be the same edit effort in the style.css. I like the concept of sprite-image so I guess I’ll stick to that for now on my friends site (ogonblicksfoto.se).
