Spacing BETWEEN Columns

  • jennifer_catracha

    I’ve searched and read, but cannot find how to adjust the size of the space between columns in this theme (which I thank you for!).

    I see top and bottom margin specifications, but where in the .css do I adjust the space BETWEEN the columns? On my site, I would like to make the spacing between column one and two more narrow, as well as between posts…

    Anyone have an idea where / how I make this adjustment?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Hi Jennifer. The space between columns is actually the margins that each of the columns have. In other words, to adjust the space, you actually adjust the margins of each column. So, to bring the left sidebar closer to the content column, you adjust the sidebar’s margin:

    #sidebar2 {
    margin-right: 0px;

    and add any value instead of 0 if you need. And to bring it even closer, you adjust the content column’s left margin:

    .grid_1, .grid_2, .grid_3, .grid_4, .grid_5 {
    margin-left: 0px;

    (I think you need to add grid_6, .grid_7, etc. depending on how many posts you have.)

    After this, you may want to re-adjust the width of the sidebar and content to match what you had before.

    As for the space between posts, it’s the same idea. You adjust the bottom margin:

    margin-bottom: 0px;

    But again, maybe you need to adjust the top margin as well.

    Good luck!

    Thank you so much for your response. I’ll give it a try and let you know how it works out.

    Hooray!!! Thank you so much! You have no idea how much time I’ve spend trying to research this one.

    This gives me just what I need to work with.
