Slider stops working (sometimes) when Excerpts Display Option set
-
After adding the
<strong>
tag to the Excerpts Display Option to be able to selectively display bold text in slider frames, I noticed the following:– works as expected using IE8 for the first 6 (of 8) slider frames, but the last 2 frames display ALL text in bold instead of just the text enclosed in tags!
– slider does not move beyond the first frame and is frozen in FireFox and Safari browsers
– after removing the Excerpts Display Option entry, the slider works normally in all browsers.
Any explanations/thoughts/suggestions?
AdminThis could be that WordPress takes only 55 words for the automatic excerpt, and that the closing tag for that
<strong>
tag is not within that 55 words, hence it was never closed.Thanks for the reply, Syahir, but there are fewer than 55 words and the bold (in the slider) starts with the first word. Here’s the html:
<p>Sales and distribution effectiveness as well as customer intimacy and loyalty are key value drivers in today’s Information Industry. FC Partners have the key insights, experience and methodology to help you drive profitable and sustainable growth though customer engagement and retention.</p>
Also, is there a known issue with the Excerpts Display Option when using the Firefox and Safari browsers?

Nope, it works just fine on the blogs I have the slider enabled on.

Yes, but if it ends outside the 55-word limit (or whatever you have chosen for the except length, if you are using the
more
tag or manual excerpts), then the closing</strong>
tag could be outside of that and wouldn’t be rendered.Hard to say more without a link to your site.
AdminNote also that the 55-words limit is the default word limit for automatic excerpt. The actual word limit may be different depending on your slider settings.
