I’d like to have the slider posts shown in order of oldest first as an option. Changing the code is an option for me but I’d rather see it as a choice. Since my site is primarily photos it would be nicer for visitors to see the last 10 or so in reverse order rather than the same ones that are on the main page.

Your reply makes it sound like my suggestion in Feature Requests is futile, and I should pursue other alternatives. I haven’t found another plugin that is as configurable, perhaps you could suggest your favorite?

We generally don’t add an option that we don’t anticipate most of the masses will use. For the specific use case of certain websites like yours, you could use a child theme to modify the order of the posts that the slider displays, or like Ken suggested, you can use a separate slider plugin. Just because it’s there, doesn’t mean you have to use it.

If displaying photos is all you want in the slider, then I’d recommend the Meteor Slides.
