Slider Format

Add “<h2>” (plus any other tags you need to retain) to the “Retain these HTML tags in excerpts” option. And then style it as above.
Keep in mind that sliders are just meant to show previews of posts. You can get it to show a lot more, but you are going to have to do a lot more along the lines of what we’ve been discussing here. Not impossible, but a lot of typing.
This is a good work around. It did what I was trying to set out to do.
To change the topic, how can I format the slider completely different? Like what Josh has on his page http://www.joshlobe.com/
By they way, thanks for all the help 🙂
Hi qazwsx,
In your admin panel, under your “Slider Options”, I have “show specific posts/pages” selected. And also, in this same menu, I have the “Slider display style” set to “Background Image and excerpt”.
You will need to make an image for each post/page you are going to use in the slider. The dimensions of each image will depend on the dimensions of your slider. It will take a little experimenting to get it just right. (Hopefully, you are okay with photoshop or it’s equivilant).
Now, on each post or page you are going to show, in the edit screen, there is a small menu called “Graphene page-specific options”. Under “Slider Options”, choose “custom url” for the slider image. FTP the image you created to any folder and reference it in the “custom slider image url”.
It’s a lot of steps… but worthy to get the end result.
Lemme know if you get stuck.

btw… I like your screen name. I “felt” a pattern when I saw it, but I didn’t notice it until I looked at my keyboard 🙂
ModTo change the topic…
Aaarrgghhhh…better to start a new thread. It makes it easier for other people to find information in here.
@ Josh
That is what I was looking for on the change of topic fix.
