I have my blog self hosted within a subdomain – blog.thinkplanrun.com. I’m looking at moving my whole site – http://www.thinkplanrun.com – to be a self hosted site. I believe this means I’ll have two instances of WordPress installed at each location which is fine as I want to keep the sites a bit different and separate. I do, however, want to have the slider put on my home site – http://www.thinkplanrun.com – be featured posts from my blog at blog.thinkplanrun.com.
Is there a way to manipulate the homepage slider (external rss feed?) or “export” the blog slider, etc? I’ve looked around and can’t find anything. Anybody know plugins that do the job? My whole goal is to keep the Graphene Theme for the homepage I’m bringing over … I love it!!
I’m not sure about this. But, you might need to change the functionality of slider using a child theme..
The slider would need to pull posts and images from a different database to the one it is assigned, so it would need to know (and know how to submit) a MYSQL username and password. I don’t know of a slider that can do that.
