Is there a way I can I have posts in the slide only, and not have them display below it? I’ve set a static post to stay on the front page, but would like to have it be the only post there, while the other posts are still available in the slideshow. Could you please help me with this? Thank you!

By ‘static post’ do you mean ‘sticky post’ or ‘static page’? There’s no such thing as ‘static post’ in WordPress…

sticky post. For example, I’d like to have the slide include maybe 4 posts, but not have all of those posts appear below the slide. I want to know if I can make one sticky post below the slide, while the others do not show up. Make it look more like a website that way rather than a blog. My sticky post would basically serve as the front page with no other posts below it, the others would only be linked in the slide.

Use Static Front Page instead. See here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
