Sidebar menu options (in widgets) have dissappeared

Hi,

I don’t know what has happened but when I go to the WIDGETS page from dashboard, The sidebar options have gone ! .. I can see the available widgets but there is no place to drag them to. I recently updated to the most recent version of WP but I don’t know if this is the issue / problem.. anyone else having this problem? is there a fix?

Hi @rob.kirtley,

Sorry for your issue. This is definitely not normal behavior.

Before we get into debugging… let’s first try one thing.

I need you to go into your plugins screen… and temporarily deactivate ALL of your plugins.

Next, manually empty and clear your browser cache.

Now, with all plugins deactivated, please go back to the Widget screen… and see if those sidebar areas re-appear.

yes, I’ve done that and yes I have the sidebars back again 🙂

So I’m assuming that I just turn on each plugin one by one .. revisit the page to find the culprit plugin?

Hi.. resolved !! it was the NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati plugin that was causing the issue. I had just recently updated to a new version of that 🙁

Funny… my support forums for my plugin have been full of issues with people thinking it was my plugin… and it was actually the very same NextGen plugin you mentioned.

Apparently, they have had a heck of a time with their last update, and the latest WP update.

If you are looking for a gallery plugin… a global friend of mine (OpaJaap) makes an awesome free image gallery plugin.
