    Hello

Today I updated wp to 3.8 and also the graphene theme to version 1.92. Everything works and looks like before except the search button. The search function works correct. But now the search button icon looks like a blue rectangle. This happens only in the Internet Explorer Browser. In all other browers e.g. Firefox the icon shows his correct magnifiying glass symbol.

    my hompage is: http://www.vintage-corvette.com

Hopefully some can help me with this issue/problem? Thanks in advance!

IE 11 displays your search button correctly. I don’t know if you have fixed the issue or it is just the older version of the browser?

Sorry I meant IE8 – no magnifying glass just a blue rectangle.

I thought it used to work – but I’ll have to see if I have an old screen dump to check

Please keep in mind that nobody uses IE6 anymore:

    http://www.modern.ie/ie6countdown

It is so out of date with regard to current web standards that to make IE6 behave the same way as an up-to-date to web browser is nearly impossible.

    Sorry IE6 was a typo – it’s IE8 see subsequent post

    Yup, see that. Sorry.

Did you make sure that theme-head.php file went inside the /includes/ directory?

Yesterday I removed my current Installation from the server and installed my backup with the old Graphene Theme and WP version. Today I made again the update to WP 3.8. The button shows right. Therefore I will not update to the newest Graphene Theme because the problem must be in the change to the newer version.

If that were the case, we would all experience it.

What version of graphene do you now have installed?

My theme runs currently with version 1.9 without problems in displaying anything… For updateing my theme I think I will wait for a higher relaise than 1.9.2. hoppefully the problem doesn´t show there 🙂

    version 1.9.1 is ok too

    http://wordpress.org/themes/graphene/developers/

Download to PC as graphene191 then uploaded into WP

However it wouldn’t install without deleting graphene first

    I couldn’t see a link to delete a theme

    So

    First back up your site

then activate an alternative theme eg twentythirteen

then go into site folders wpincludes themes and delete or rename the graphene folder to graphene192

then back into WP themes and upload install graphene191 from your PC

It seems to remember most things

    PS

this link says you can delete a theme by hovering over it

    http://ernstrenner.com/wordpress-3-8-how-to-delete-themes/

    nothing hovers for me

    PPS found it

    once youve deactivated graphene 1.9.2

In the middle of the theme image on the theme selection page and only just visible in white writing is ‘theme details’

click that and a preview of the theme opens

Bottom right off the corner of the screen is delete
