Removing Links in Post Titles

Is there a way to remove the links in the titles on posts that appear in the home page?

I only want to run 1 sentence excerpts of material elsewhere in the site on the home page and it doesn’t look great to have the title link to a permalink page of that single sentence.

I’m really new at this, so please forgive my ignorance. I’ll need really basic instructions that a child could follow!

Do you mean you want to remove the title of posts on the front page, or the “Read More” link for those excerpts? In any case, please provide the URL to the website.

I’ve completely changed the layout of my site since raising the question, so it doesn’t matter to me now.

In any case, I was talking about the posts as they appear on the homepage. I did not want the title to link to anything at all.
