Removing excerpt filter

  • aussietaste

For some strange reason my excerpts are all missing letter combinations of “love”, “del” or “ko”. I presume it is a filter but I have no idea where to look to remove this. Any suggestions please?

Which post in particular do you see this in? Are you wrapping those words in a shortcode, or some other html?

    On the page http://aussietaste.recipes/category/glossary/ :

    • Scroll to Almonds and on line 4 “probably the almond rs’ almond” – love has been stripped
    • Scroll to Apricot and on line 2 “lo for fruits with no touch ” – ok has been stripped
    • Scroll to Asparagus – Asparagus is d for its versatility (love is missing) and and coing asparagus (ok is missing)

All excerpts are placed into the Excerpt box on the page without any form of markup, html, or shortcodes. The missing parts are consistent across all categories. They are definitely in the excerpt text and not typos.

There is nothing in either WP core or Graphene that would cause that to happen. You are running a number of plugins. Have you tried disabling them to see if this is plugin related?

Ok, deactivate each plugin in turn with no luck. Only thing I didn’t touch was the Graphene mobile theme stuff.

Did you get this sorted? (You didn’t edit theme or WP core files?)

Still not sorted but today I am going to do each theme file i changed 1 by 1 to see what I’ve done. WP core are untouched but I have played with 3 or 4 theme files. Will post results in 24 hours or less. Thanks for checking.

This is why you should never edit theme files. Always use a child theme, instead.
