Remove comment option on pictures?
Hey, this is my site ebenfeldmb.com and I’m having trouble with the “Gallery” pages, specifically when you click on the pictures and it goes to the page with just the single picture, there’s a comment option. It’s been a spam catcher for the website and I’d like to remove the option to comment there, thereby reducing the spam traffic to the website. But I can’t find an option to do so. How might I do it?
Also, on the post preview, is there a way to have a preview of the post that doesn’t mess up the formatting of the post on the preview? One of the people who posts on the blog doesn’t like it and wanted to see if there could be something done about it.Mod
Instead of linking to the attachment page, just link to the picture itself (or don’t link to anything).Quote:Also, on the post preview, is there a way to have a preview of the post that doesn’t mess up the formatting of the post on the preview?
I’m not sure what you mean here. Can you provide a link?
Here’s the page I’m talking about with the post preview:
They actually would like no preview of the text at all, just the title and that’s it. I couldn’t find an option to do so, but perhaps there is some code I don’t know?
Also, I’m still getting spam hits and I changed everything over to link to the picture itself. Any other ideas? They’d rather not pay for akismet if they don’t have to, but if that ends up needing to happen it’s not a big deal.Mod
Why don’t you just turn off comments entirely. They are using their blog more as a website than as a blog anyway.
As for the preview, I think you’re referring to the post excerpt. There are functions that can change the length of that. The WordPress default is 55 words. Search this forum to find that function, and try setting it to zero.
