Hey Guys – I have been trying to add Google Authorship to my site for the past 2-Hours and cant get it to work, has anyone here done this? and can anyone help?

The instructions from Google are listed here: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1408986

I did Option 1 at the bottom, got the email and verfied it, but I am getting and error, tried step two, but I dont know where I have to put this link of code:

    <a href="https://plus.google.com/107722866969101890418?rel=author">Google</a>

When I test it with the Google Tool here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

    I keep getting this error:

“Error: Author profile page does not have a rel=”me” link to a Google Profile”

Hope all that make sense, and can anyone help?

    Thank you ~ Mark

Hmmm…not sure about that. It’s the first I’ve heard of it actually, but it sounds pretty cool. I will definitely play around with it when I have some time.

For some reason, however, when I try to go to your site, it automatically sends me to your RSS feed. I can’t actually get to your home page. I can get to individual articles through the feed, but when I click on your “Home” link, it just takes me back to the feed.

    Hey Kenn,

Happy Easter partner! And thank you for responding.

Yes, Google Authorship is new, I think it came out in Jan 2012, and its very cool, it will increase your click rate even if your not in the First 3-Results on the Search Engines because the picture will stand out in the search results.

I did get it to work, (3-More Hours loll) but its not working correctly, it should be pulling the info from my “linked author profile” but it pulling it from this page: http://workwithmarkchoo.com/press-release-mark-choo-association-exclusive-mastermind-team-stepbystep-guide-build-website-free-webinar which is a Press Release Link/Page that I have in the Widget Area. Do you know where the “linked author profile” is located and how can I edit it?

When you do a test using Google Rich Snippets Tool Here:

    http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

It should look like this (Example Google Gives):

    Extracted Author/Publisher for this page
    author
    linked author profile = http://www.mattcutts.com/
    google profile = http://profiles.google.com/109412257237874861202/about
    author name = Matt Cutts
Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page.

    But mines look like this:

    Extracted Author/Publisher for this page
    author
    linked author profile = http://workwithmarkchoo.com/press-release-mark-choo-association-exclusive-mastermind-team-stepbystep-guide-build-website-free-webinar/
    google profile = http://profiles.google.com/107722866969101890418/about
    author name = Mark Choo
Verified: Authorship markup is verified for this page.

I had to put this code

    <a href="https://plus.google.com/107722866969101890418?
    rel=author">Google</a>

on that Press Release page to get it to work and for Google to Verify, but I know it should be pulling the info from the home page or the linked author profile somehow. Any ideas?

Also, not sure what problem you seeing with my home page, it seems to be working on my end, can you please help me check that again?

    Thank Again Ken!

    Mark
