Pre-Upgrade activities.

Hi, its me again, your resident idiot. Well, in ten days, 3 clueless women have managed to put up a silly little website. But it’s over 100 pages with over 70 data tables. Here’s are my questions today.

I haven’t been able to get the fb social share button to work. I went to the developer’s page, generated the code but.. nothing.

Since we’re still pre-launch (but just barely) I want to upgrade now before taking the site live. I have backed up my site (would hate to lose 70 tables). Is there anything else I should know before I leap? Do i just install over my theme?

Also, I’m pretty sure that this isn’t your problem but I’m asking anyway. You guys all seem very well-versed in all things WP, not just I can’t seem to get any social sharing to work. I want to have a facebook connect function to recognize the incoming user and log them in or provide them an opportunity to do so. Any words of wisdom for me? my silly site is at http://fghelper.com/fgh/

You might want to read this post before upgrading to Graphene 1.6:

As for the facebook connect, I’m afraid that’s outside the scope of our theme and support. But you may want to try this plugin:

Thanks, I read that earlier. Do I install over my current theme? I have a child theme active too.

Thanks for the plugin suggestion. I think I tried that one and couldn’t get it to work.

Also, in graphene, there’s a section to input my social sharing button code. I generated the facebook code and pasted into graphene but nothing happens at all. Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

By the way, I love graphene. I tried to rate it but was unable.

Well, I went ahead and installed. All of my graphene options were overwritten to the defaults so I’m resetting them. I had to reset the colors (still don’t have them quite right) but I can’t find any way to adjust the color on the “comment” button at the bottom of the page http://fghelper.com/fgh/
