Pages and Posts, can they be mixed?

Happen it’s because I’m slower than most at picking things up and folks here are tired of trying to help but I don’t seem to be having much success in getting answers to the questions I’ve raised here lately.

I can’t get my head around using a mix of Pages and Posts when creating my website. I have just tried creating a new post and learned that it doesn’t show in the same menu as the pages menu on my home page. Neither does there appear to be a way of including posts in the same menu. In any menu. You might say this is what should be expected but then, if I have a mix of Pages and Posts, how do I link them so they all show in the same menu?

My thanks to anyone willing to spare the time and share their knowledge.

Pages and posts are fundamentally different creatures, and serve different purposes on a website. Here is a rundown:

Usually, only pages show up in a menu. However, you can add whatever you like if you use a custom menu. Graphene does support custom menus.
